Hyderabad, May 21 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), asserted on Wednesday that the notice served to BRS President and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by the P. C. Ghose Commission, which is investigating alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, is nothing but a conspiracy to obscure the corruption of the Congress government in Telangana.
He criticized the ruling party for transforming governance into a ‘commission-driven circus’ and claimed that the notices directed at K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) serve as a diversion from their own corruption and administrative shortcomings.
“This government lacks the capability to govern, does not possess the courage to deliver on its empty promises, and is now engaging in theatrics like issuing commission notices to KCR garu to redirect public focus,” KTR, who is KCR’s son, stated.
While addressing reporters in Nalgonda, he alleged that the Congress regime has devolved into a “percentage rule,” where commissions of 20–30 percent have become customary. “Even Congress MLAs and ministers have acknowledged that no work occurs in this government without commissions,” he revealed. Referring to the recent protests by contractors at the Deputy Chief Minister’s office, KTR noted that this exemplifies the public’s exposure to their corruption.
KTR criticized the ‘BJP-Congress alliance’ for conspiring to depict the Kaleshwaram Project as a failure and politicizing it for their advantage. He emphasized that the recent notices to KCR from the so-called Commission are part of this agenda. “No matter how many notices you send, they will dissipate like cotton in the wind,” KTR proclaimed, adding, “We have great confidence in the judiciary, and ultimately, truth and justice will prevail.”
He reminded the press that Kaleshwaram is a visionary initiative launched by KCR aimed at irrigating vast areas and transforming arid land. “Those who have contributed to Telangana’s advancement will be safeguarded by the people -- and by God,” he asserted.
KTR cautioned that the Congress is utilizing inquiries and committees to alleviate the pressure of fulfilling its six guarantees. “The BRS stands for 1.68 crore women demanding their Rs 2,500 per month. We advocate for every parent inquiring about the promised tola of gold, and for the elderly awaiting their Rs 4,000 pensions.”
He stated that the BRS will persist until every promise made by Congress during the elections is realized. “This government is operating on deceit, distraction, and destruction. But if they persist down this path, the people of Telangana will rise in revolt,” KTR cautioned.
On Tuesday, Justice P.C. Ghose Commission issued notices to former minister T. Harish Rao and BJP MP Eatala Rajender.
The Commission, led by retired Supreme Court judge Pinaki Chandra Ghose, is examining the alleged irregularities in the planning, design, construction, quality control, operation, and maintenance of Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla Barrages of the Kaleshwaram project.
This one-man Commission was established in March 2024, a few months after some piers of the Medigadda Barrage collapsed.
