Hyderabad, Aug 5 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has labeled the P. C. Ghose Commission report concerning the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project as 'trash' and 'all gas'.
He challenged the Congress government to present the complete 655-page report to the public and allow BRS MLAs to address the Assembly without interruptions.
Rama Rao criticized the Congress government for condensing the extensive report into a mere 60 pages.
KTR accused the ruling party of leaking the report to their affiliated media shortly after its submission, leading to the dissemination of 'baseless' and 'rotten' news aimed at undermining former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) and the BRS.
“If the Congress government is courageous, they should facilitate an open discussion in the Assembly without cutting the mic. The duty to dismantle their claims lies with us,” asserted the BRS leader.
Previously, BRS leader and ex-minister T. Harish Rao presented a counter-argument against the Ghose Commission report to the media.
Harish Rao, indicted alongside KCR by the Commission for alleged mismanagement of the project, referred to Congress's actions as 'Goebbels’ propaganda' but maintained that ultimately, the truth would emerge.
“The BRS will return to power. In just a few months, we will ensure water supply to farmers and validate that Kaleshwaram is a true blessing for Telangana,” he emphasized.
Harish Rao remarked that numerous commissions have submitted reports intended for political harassment, and emphasized that “reports driven by political malice will not hold up in court.”
The BRS leader further accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of orchestrating 'daily serials' under the guise of commissions. He claimed that this government lacks genuine intent to support farmers.
He pointed out that Revanth Reddy has done little in two years except deliver 'bags of commissions' to Delhi and impose burdens on the opposition.
Under KCR's leadership, a historic agreement was made with Maharashtra to develop the Kaleshwaram project, yet the Congress government has not initiated any projects during its tenure.
Harish Rao drew a parallel with the British government's formation of a Commission against Sir Arthur Cotton, asserting that future generations would regard KCR as a deity for the Kaleshwaram project.
He demanded that the government disclose the entire Ghose Commission report to unveil the truth, accusing both Congress and the BJP of engaging in political vendetta.
