Hyderabad, Sep 3 (NationPress) Criticizing the Telangana government's initiative to initiate a CBI inquiry against former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao regarding the Kaleshwaram project, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao labeled it as a disgraceful act towards the people of Telangana.
“It is regrettable to target a visionary leader who has secured water supply for Hyderabad for the next five decades through initiatives like Mallanna Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar,” KTR stated.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader pointed out that Rahul Gandhi previously referred to the CBI as “Modi’s pocket organization,” while Revanth Reddy has now begun to commend it. “This inconsistency demonstrates the dire situation of the Congress party,” he commented.
KTR made these remarks at KCR’s residence in Erravalli while welcoming senior Congress figure Prabhakar Rao from the Manuguru, Pinapaka constituency, along with his supporters, into the BRS.
He asserted that no political leader in India has achieved as much development in a decade as KCR, whose irrigation projects have transformed Telangana into a green landscape, while his rivals are envious.
The BRS leader accused both the Congress and the BJP of scheming to tarnish KCR's reputation with unfounded allegations because they cannot withstand the love the people have for him. “Under Revanth Reddy's governance, Telangana has fallen into turmoil in just 21 months. Farmers are seen waiting in long lines, leaving their shoes behind, just to purchase urea. This illustrates the reality of Congress’s mismanagement,” KTR remarked.
He noted that in 2014, Telangana was positioned 14th in agricultural output; however, under KCR’s stewardship and through monumental projects like Kaleshwaram, Sitarama, and Palamuru-Rangareddy, the state emerged as a significant food producer. “Kaleshwaram stands as the world’s largest lift irrigation initiative, transporting 2 TMCs of water daily from Medigadda to Kondapochamma Sagar. It irrigates vast lands and supplies drinking water to numerous villages,” he emphasized.
KTR criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for tarnishing the dignity of his office with reckless comments, unlike previous distinguished leaders such as NTR, Chandrababu, YSR, and KCR.
He reminded everyone that KCR ensured the continuation of welfare schemes even during the COVID crisis when revenues plummeted to zero, while Congress leaders are occupied with excuses.
He also highlighted that KCR’s government has stood firmly with Singareni coal workers, meeting most of their demands, and urged for reflection on why BRS has underperformed in those regions despite such support.
