Hyderabad, April 16 (NationPress) K. Taraka Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has vehemently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that the party holds a significant grudge against the state of Telangana.

In response to comments made in Parliament by MP Tejasvi Surya, who allegedly likened the establishment of Telangana to the India-Pakistan Partition, KTR dismissed this comparison as absurd and a serious affront to the state's identity.

KTR stressed that Telangana was not a favor or an act of benevolence from any political group. He reminded everyone that the state was achieved through a long-fought democratic battle and the ultimate sacrifices of countless young individuals.

He pointed out that from Prime Minister Modi to MP Tejasvi Surya, the BJP leaders have repeatedly launched attacks against the statehood movement.

KTR sharply criticized the eight BJP MPs and some Congress MPs from Telangana for their inaction during parliamentary sessions, labeling their silence as “disgraceful.”

He accused these representatives of compromising Telangana’s dignity in Delhi for personal political advantages instead of defending the honor of those who elected them.

Furthermore, the BRS leader demanded an unconditional apology from both Tejasvi Surya and the BJP leadership, warning that the citizens of Telangana are attentively observing these insults. He asserted that a failure to retract Surya’s comments would indicate that they align with the BJP’s official “anti-Telangana” stance.

BRS deputy leader T. Harish Rao also condemned the “insensitive” and “irresponsible” remarks made by Surya. He expressed that Surya's analogy between the formation of Telangana and the creation of Pakistan was not only incorrect but also deeply offensive to the feelings of nearly four crore residents of Telangana.

“We demand an immediate and unconditional apology from Tejasvi Surya and the BJP. The party must clarify its position and ensure such reckless statements are not repeated,” he stated.

K. Kavitha, a leader of Telangana Jagruthi, also criticized Surya harshly. She shared on X: “How dare you, Tejasvi Surya? You insult not just those who fought for Telangana over six decades to achieve the region’s aspirations and end the discrimination we experienced, but you also dishonor the memory of the thousands who sacrificed their lives to establish Telangana.”

She urged all eight BJP MPs, including two central ministers from the state, to either speak out or resign. “You do not deserve to represent the people of Telangana if you cannot respect our emotions,” she concluded.
