KCR Criticizes Congress Government for Alteration of ‘Telangana Thalli’ Statue

Hyderabad, Dec 8 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday called the changes made to the 'Telangana Thalli (Mother Telangana)' statue by the Congress government foolish.
KCR, as Rao is commonly referred to, claimed that the redesign of the statue amounts to an assault on Telangana's identity.
Criticizing the Revanth Reddy-led administration, he stated that it lacks comprehension of the Telangana movement and its history, questioning whether modifying the statue is indeed a governmental function and if it is appropriate for a government to continuously make such alterations.
Speaking at the BRS Legislature Party meeting held at his residence in Erravalli, located in Siddipet district, KCR expressed his views regarding the modified statue of ‘Telangana Thalli’ just one day before its unveiling by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the state Secretariat.
The government has extended an invitation to KCR for the unveiling ceremony as part of the festivities marking one year of the Congress government.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar personally approached the former Chief Minister on Saturday to deliver the invitation on behalf of the government.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao informed the media following the BRS Legislative Party meeting that KCR urged party legislators to address various issues concerning the populace in both houses of the state legislature during the upcoming session starting on December 9.
KCR instructed MLAs and MLCs to hold the government accountable in both the Assembly and the Council for its failures and the unfulfilled poll promises. Rama Rao stated that the party will also highlight the matter of the unlawful arrests of its legislators and leaders, along with the fabrication of charges against them. He emphasized that the BRS would confront the government regarding the agricultural crisis and its inability to meet commitments made to farmers. The opposition party is also set to challenge the government over recent excesses faced by tribals, Dalits, and other marginalized communities regarding land acquisition for the pharma cluster in the Chief Minister’s constituency of Kodangal.
KCR informed the attendees that a public meeting would be organized in February to protest against the anti-people policies of the Congress government. He indicated that the party would form all necessary committees after February, followed by a membership drive.
