Kolkata, July 26 (NationPress) Two significant forensic analyses related to the Law College rape incident in Kolkata have unequivocally established the roles of the three main suspects, with one identified as the perpetrator and the other two as facilitators.
According to sources from the City Police, the initial forensic report pertains to the examination of the mobile device belonging to Monojit Mishra, the individual accused of raping the law college student.
"The forensic examination of Mishra's mobile has yielded clear evidence concerning not only the rape incident involving the law college student last month but also similar instances of sexual misconduct attributed to him in the past," stated a City Police official.
However, the officer declined to share further specifics regarding this aspect.
The second forensic report addresses the blood samples retrieved from the crime scene, specifically from the guard room located within the law college.
"This analysis has provided compelling evidence linking Mishra and two additional suspects, Jaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, to the crime. Essentially, the findings from these two forensic reports create a robust case against the primary accused," the police representative added.
While Mishra is recognized as the perpetrator of the rape, Ahmed and Mukhopadhyay have been categorized as the facilitators.
The investigative team has already gathered statements from 60 witnesses. These testimonies, along with footage captured by CCTV cameras on the law college premises, have further enriched the investigation, contributing to a solid case against the accused.
This week, investigators performed a gait pattern analysis on the three suspects, a scientific method that correlates the body movements of the accused with those recorded in the CCTV footage.
In the CCTV footage, the suspects were observed dragging the victim to the guard room, where the alleged rape occurred.
