Chennai, July 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to partake in a series of prestigious events in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, July 27. These include the millennium celebrations honoring Rajendra Chola I’s maritime expedition and the initiation of the Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple construction.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister expressed: “Tomorrow, July 27 will mark a remarkable event celebrating a thousand years of the great Rajendra Chola I's maritime journey to South East Asia, along with the groundbreaking ceremony for the iconic Gangaikonda Cholapuram temple, showcasing the brilliance of Chola architecture. It is an honor to announce the release of a commemorative coin in tribute to Rajendra Chola I, coinciding with the celebration of the Aadi Thiruvathirai festival.”

In the meantime, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who is currently recovering at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, has appointed Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu to present a memorandum to the visiting Prime Minister.

The memorandum addresses crucial demands regarding the state’s financial and developmental issues.

Stalin mentioned on X: “Due to my hospitalization, I have forwarded a petition with requests to be presented to the Honorable Prime Minister during his visit to Tamil Nadu through the Chief Secretary. Minister Thangam Thennarasu will deliver it to the Prime Minister.”

Security measures have been significantly tightened in Tiruchirappalli and Ariyalur districts in preparation for the Prime Minister’s visit to Gangaikonda Cholapuram.
