New Delhi, Feb 11 (NationPress) The Lok Sabha resumed its sessions on Wednesday, kicking off with the Question Hour amidst intense sloganeering from the Opposition.

Addressing a query during the Question Hour, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi revealed that the Modi government has earmarked Rs 10,000 crore for the Green Corridor Phase-1 project and approximately Rs 12,000 crore for the Green Corridor Phase-2 initiative.
He elaborated that the Green Energy Corridor Phase-1 is currently being implemented in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu to ensure grid integration and power evacuation of nearly 24 GW of renewable energy (RE).
As per Joshi, the GEC Phase II will facilitate the grid integration and power evacuation of around 20 GW of RE projects across Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.
On another note, sources indicate that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has opted to abstain from House proceedings until discussions and a resolution are reached regarding the motion seeking his removal.
This matter may be addressed on March 9, the first day of the second part of the Budget Session, when the House might consider initiating discussions on the no-confidence motion, according to sources.
The Budget Session, which began on January 28, comprises a total of 30 meetings over 65 days and is set to conclude on April 2.
Both Houses are scheduled to take a recess on February 13 and will recommence their sessions on March 9 to provide the Standing Committees time to review the Demands for Grants from various ministries and departments.
