Kasargod Oct 14 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Kerala, V. D. Satheesan, has recently criticized Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for dodging crucial inquiries regarding the Enforcement Directorate (ED) notice sent to his son.
On Monday, Satheesan pointed out that the CM reacted with emotion rather than providing clear explanations about the situation.
“The Chief Minister displayed emotional responses but failed to address the pertinent questions. Even (CPI-M General Secretary) M.A. Baby has commented on this issue. Is the Chief Minister suggesting that the Opposition should remain silent when the ED issues a notice to his son at the Cliff House?” questioned Satheesan.
He confirmed that the ED had indeed delivered the notice to the Cliff House address.
“The CM needs to clarify if the notice pertains to the Life Mission case or the Lavalin case. Instead of providing a straightforward answer, he resorted to emotional tirades, sarcasm, and veiled threats. Such tactics may work with M.A. Baby, but not with the Leader of the Opposition,” Satheesan remarked.
He accused the ED of concealing the notice and suspending proceedings under mysterious circumstances.
“I have informally learned that directives to halt further action came from higher-ups. Whether these came from officials or political leaders, the ED must clarify,” he stated, noting that the agency’s website still displays the notice from 2013.
“Journalists merely reported what was already public knowledge. How can that be termed a conspiracy?”
Satheesan further claimed that the Chief Minister is engaged in an unholy nexus with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“Whenever challenges arise, he seeks counsel from senior BJP leaders. This political collaboration has been ongoing, and every significant event since has only reinforced it,” he asserted.
He pointed out that while the ED aggressively pursues Opposition leaders in non-BJP states, in Kerala, “cases are quietly buried.”
He emphasized that the people of Kerala expect the CM to provide clear answers, not emotional displays.
“The ED must now clarify why the notice was issued and why there was no subsequent action,” he concluded.
