Madhya Pradesh: Have 21 Cases Been Filed Against 22 Fraudsters in Police Constable Recruitment Exam?

Bhopal, June 7 (NationPress) The police have initiated legal proceedings by registering 21 cases against 22 individuals involved in fraudulent activities during the Madhya Pradesh police constable recruitment examination. Authorities have discovered significant irregularities within the recruitment process, prompting this legal action.

All 22 candidates are accused of submitting forged certificates. Inspector General of Police for Law and Order, Anshuman Singh, elaborated on the details of this deception during a press conference at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal.

“This action follows directives from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav,” stated the police officer.

The recruitment initiative, conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Commission in 2023, was aimed at filling positions in the Police Reserve GD and Radio divisions.

In total, a remarkable 652,057 candidates took part in the written examination, with 55,220 candidates qualifying for the physical fitness assessment held from October 16 to November 20.

In the end, 6,423 candidates were chosen, consisting of 5,090 men and 1,333 women, as reported by the senior police official.

Concerns arose during the second phase of the evaluation in November 2024 when five candidates attempted to impersonate others at the Morena examination center, which led to immediate intervention and legal consequences.

After this incident, the Police Headquarters in Bhopal issued orders on April 21, 2025, mandating a complete re-verification of all successful candidates.

This verification included biometric and Aadhaar history checks from their respective units prior to final appointments.

Investigations have unveiled a troubling trend in various districts, where candidates reportedly altered their Aadhaar biometric data both before and after the written exam.

Forensic analysis of signatures, handwriting, and fingerprints revealed significant discrepancies, leading to the registration of cases across multiple areas.

To date, seven cases have been filed in Morena, six in Shivpuri, two in Sheopur, and one in Indore, Datia, Gwalior, Alirajpur, Rajgarh, and Shahdol, according to the officer.

Further investigation brought to light the role of Aadhaar card vendors who manipulated records for profit, enabling fraudulent modifications without adequate verification.

This exploitation of the system allowed candidates to circumvent security protocols and unlawfully pursue positions.

Under the direction of the Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh, the Selection Branch and other investigatory bodies are diligently monitoring the situation, emphasizing efforts to maintain accountability and preserve the integrity of the recruitment process, thereby reinforcing the state’s commitment to transparency and fairness in law enforcement appointments.
