Bhopal, March 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, has proposed the growth of the Hawk Force and the establishment of new security camps in areas afflicted by Maoist activities within the state.
CM Yadav stressed the need for enhanced coordination among various agencies operating in Maoist-impacted regions to foster economic and social development for the local population.
These statements were made during a meeting with senior police officials aimed at assessing the current operations against Maoists in the districts of Balaghat and Dindori late on Thursday.
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of installing mobile towers and improving road connectivity to strengthen communication infrastructure, which is essential for reaching communities in densely forested Maoist-affected areas.
"CM Mohan Yadav has instructed that ongoing development initiatives in Naxal-impacted regions of Madhya Pradesh undergo regular assessments. He highlighted the necessity for rigorous monitoring and evaluation at district, police headquarters, and state government levels to effectively combat Naxal activities," stated the government.
CM Yadav emphasized the "resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to eradicate Naxalism by 2026," asserting that Madhya Pradesh will take an active role in this mission.
He noted that the construction of roads, enhancement of telecommunication facilities, and the deployment of security forces in the affected regions have shown positive outcomes in curbing Maoist activities, but acknowledged that more efforts are necessary.
"Naxalism will not be permitted to establish a foothold in Madhya Pradesh under any circumstances, and the state will undertake the strictest measures for its total eradication. Development initiatives must proceed without interruption, and modern equipment should be employed for surveillance to intensify efforts against Naxalism," he added.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister pointed out that "Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently engaged with Naxal-affected states to ensure the effective execution of PM Modi's vision for a Naxal-free India by 2026."
Additionally, the Chief Minister praised the recent police operation in Balaghat and surrounding areas, where security forces successfully eliminated four Maoists in an encounter.
He congratulated the police personnel involved in this operation, during which a significant stockpile of weapons and ammunition was confiscated.
