Bhopal, Dec 12 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, celebrated the completion of two years in governance on Friday. The state government proudly announced a significant milestone in declaring Madhya Pradesh as Maoist-free, attributing this success to the collaboration with the Centre.
On Thursday, the Chief Minister's Office released a statement highlighting pivotal decisions and developmental initiatives executed during this timeframe.
These achievements encompass substantial progress on crucial central projects, including the Ken-Betwa river linking, the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal project, and a memorandum of understanding with Maharashtra for the Tapti Basin Mega Recharge project.
Among the key initiatives were the enhancement of monthly aid under the Ladli Behna Yojana from Rs 1,250 to Rs 1,500, the renaming of ‘CM Rise Schools’ to ‘Sandipani Vidyalay’, and the establishment of a PM Mitra Park in Dhar district.
The government also highlighted its decision to prohibit loudspeakers in religious and public venues, as well as banning meat sales in open spaces as part of its initial administrative measures.
Additionally, it mentioned the closure of all transport check-posts at inter-state borders following a corruption scandal that led to the apprehension of a former inspector and the recovery of 52 kg of gold in Bhopal.
Efforts toward wildlife conservation were emphasized, showcasing the creation of two new cheetah habitats at Gandhi Sagar and Nauradehi after initiating Project Cheetah at Kuno National Park in 2022.
The government also pointed out investment-centric events such as the Global Investors Summit and various Regional Industry Conclaves held over the past year.
After securing victory in the 2023 Assembly elections, the BJP retained power with 163 out of 230 seats. Mohan Yadav, a three-time MLA from Ujjain South and former Higher Education Minister, was sworn in as Chief Minister on December 13, 2023, succeeding four-time CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who now serves as Union Agriculture Minister.
“During the past two years, Madhya Pradesh has experienced remarkable growth, and the pace of development has intensified, leading to enhancements in various development indicators,” remarked the Chief Minister’s Office.
