Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh), June 7 (NationPress) Farmers in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh are experiencing remarkable benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, an essential initiative by the Central government designed to bolster the financial stability of small and marginal farmers.
An IANS team visited Barkheda village, situated roughly 30 kilometers from the Rajgarh district headquarters, to assess the scheme's effects. Discussions with local farmers revealed a strong sense of satisfaction and appreciation for the financial support received through this initiative.
Farmers indicated that the timely financial assistance from the scheme has allowed them to avoid incurring loans and to purchase vital items necessary for their agricultural endeavors, such as seeds, fertilizers, and farming equipment. Prior to the launch of this scheme, many farmers depended on loans, leading to increased stress and financial strain.
“Today, thanks to PM-KISAN, we no longer need to take loans for our fundamental farming requirements. We receive the Samman Nidhi amount ahead of the cropping season, enabling us to prepare more effectively,” shared one farmer.
Another beneficiary, Bhagwan Singh Yadav, remarked: “I’ve been receiving funds under this scheme. It’s a fantastic initiative. Prime Minister Modi is doing admirable work for farmers like us.”
Rafiq Khan, another recipient, expressed, “Previously, I had to borrow money to purchase pesticides and other farming essentials. Now, I can manage independently. It’s a huge relief.”
Farmer Bhagirath also acknowledged the scheme's positive impact, stating: “I’m genuinely pleased. This financial assistance is making a significant difference.”
Jitendra Yadav, another beneficiary, noted: “In the past, I struggled to buy seeds and pesticides. Now, I’m thankful to the Prime Minister. This scheme has alleviated my challenges.”

Abdul Rehman shared a similar perspective: “Before the scheme, I encountered numerous hardships. Now, I don’t have to rely on anyone for money. It’s timely and effective assistance.”
Razzaq Khan added, “This scheme has been incredibly helpful for farming. Things were tough before, but now, they have become much easier.”
Ram Prasad highlighted the significance of this financial aid: “Without the Samman Nidhi, we would still be facing challenges. This support has been immensely advantageous.”
Munshi Khan concluded, “We utilize this money to acquire seeds and other essentials. If this scheme weren’t available, many of us would be in dire straits.”
Initiated in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides direct financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to qualified small and marginal farmers. This amount is disbursed in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months, directly credited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
