Madhya Pradesh Introduces New Logistics Policy to Reduce Export Goods Transport Costs

Bhopal, Feb 16 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance exports and lower transportation expenses for exporters, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched its extensive multi-faceted Logistics Policy 2025.

This innovative policy seeks to improve logistics efficiency, cultivate a streamlined supply chain, and develop world-class infrastructure across the state.

Despite having four dry ports, Madhya Pradesh remains relatively expensive for importers due to its land-locked position compared to coastal states.

The Madhya Pradesh Logistics Policy-2025 is poised to serve as a driver for the state's economic advancement.

By establishing Madhya Pradesh as a leading logistics center, the policy aims to lure investors and stimulate trade, promising significant economic growth in the future.

To enhance infrastructure, the state government plans to construct over 20 cargo terminals, improving the logistics network with cutting-edge facilities to ensure efficient freight movement.

Lowered transportation costs will boost profitability for businesses and attract more investments.

Increasing export capacity is a crucial element of the Logistics Policy-2025.

This policy encompasses the creation of export parks featuring appealing incentives for developers, such as full reimbursement of stamp duty and registration fees, financial support up to Rs 40 crore or 50 percent per acre for infrastructure development, and up to 25 percent or Rs 25 crore for establishing common pre-processing facilities for exporters.

The policy also promotes green industrialization, encouraging zero-liquid discharge waste management systems and centralized waste management systems with a 50 percent reimbursement incentive.

To encourage exporter engagement, the policy supports export diversification, enhances efficiency in export-oriented units, and strengthens export-focused logistics infrastructure.

Goals include increasing export volumes, elevating the value of 'Made in Madhya Pradesh' products, and generating job opportunities in the logistics sector.

To ensure effective implementation, the government will concentrate on decreasing port turnaround times, improving supply chain efficiency, and introducing a PCS-One system for electronic delivery orders. These actions will simplify logistics processes and enhance transparency.

Dedicated Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) laboratories will be established to uphold safety and quality standards. Innovations such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) doors will enhance security and speed up goods movement.

The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) will facilitate seamless data exchange across the logistics value chain.

A key aspect of the policy is the launch of the Green Card Scheme, which provides expedited approvals for logistics operators who adopt environmentally friendly transportation practices.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav underscored the importance of this initiative, emphasizing its potential to strengthen the state's economy and attract investors to the forthcoming Global Investors Summit (GIS).

CM Yadav stated that by 2030, the new policy would align Madhya Pradesh’s logistics costs with global benchmarks, positioning it as one of the most preferred destinations for both domestic and international businesses.

By reducing logistics costs, the policy will directly benefit traders and entrepreneurs, leading to job creation in warehouses, transportation, and logistics firms.

This represents a prime opportunity for both domestic and international investors. Lower logistics costs will also enhance transportation and storage options for farmers' produce.
