Mumbai, Sep 8 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was honored with the Phoenix Award by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Monday.
During his address, he expressed that receiving this accolade from the Marathi Journalists Association at the hands of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has significantly boosted his motivation to fulfill his duties.
“Many believed I was destined to fade away, yet I soared instead,” he remarked while reflecting on the challenges encountered in his political journey.
CM Fadnavis shared, “Throughout my political journey, two principles have propelled me forward: patience and positivity. Here’s a little secret: if you see me agitated, it’s typically because I’m hungry. My anger subsides when I am nourished. Generally, I maintain my calm.”
He continued, “I strive to find the good in everyone I encounter. Whatever tasks I undertake, I approach them with a positive mindset. Although this award is named ‘Phoenix’, I didn’t rise from ashes; rather, there were times when many thought I was becoming ashes, and then I soared. My ability to take flight stemmed from facing those moments of despair with positivity. I never shunned challenges; instead, I confronted them without engaging in conflict or extreme politics. This approach has allowed me to move forward gradually amid adversity.”
CM Fadnavis emphasized that journalists and politicians are akin to the two wheels of a democratic vehicle. For democracy to thrive, both must operate in harmony.
“Journalists have the right to critique, but our perspectives must also be considered. To strengthen democracy, journalism must maintain its freedoms. The government stands ready to assist in addressing journalists' challenges. The landscape of journalism has evolved, particularly post-COVID, as journalists tirelessly work day and night,” he remarked.
He assured that the government would extend all necessary support to ensure this vital democratic pillar remains robust.
The Chief Minister concluded by stating that positive thinking has enabled significant contributions for future generations.
“Initiatives like the Jalyukt Shivar Yojana aimed at alleviating farmers' distress were inspired by Gurudev. Art of Living volunteers partnered with the government to promote water conservation efforts. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has played an instrumental role in elevating Indian yoga, Ayurveda, and traditions on a global stage. His efforts to spread Indian philosophy and the essence of humanity are commendable. This award from him is a distinguished honor for me,” he expressed.
