Prayagraj, Jan 15 (NationPress) The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a magnificent display of spirituality and devotion, has showcased a myriad of colors and expressions of faith as sadhus and sants from all over the nation convened to conduct 'yagya' ceremonies in their distinctive styles. This sacred occasion, attracting millions of devotees, has evolved into a platform for spiritual leaders to deliver profound messages, including the promotion of Sanatan Dharma and the declaration of the cow as the mother of the nation.

On this day, a notable event is scheduled — the 324 Kundiya Panchayatan Shri Gau-Pratishtha Maha Yagya, organized by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Shri Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati.

The 'yagya', aimed at abolishing cow slaughter in India and establishing the cow as the mother of the nation, will take place from January 15 to February 12.

A total of 1,100 Brahmins will conduct the 'Pratishtha Yagya', and what distinguishes this event is the exclusive use of pure ghee sourced from cows of all breeds.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand stressed that the primary objective of this 'yagya' is to reinstate the cow's revered status as the 'mother' in contemporary society. He also urged political leaders to actively engage in the 'yagya' and commit to making cow slaughter a punishable crime.

In a conversation with the media, the Jagadguru stated, “This yagya is a movement to protect the cow. We will ensure safety and implement stringent measures against cow slaughter. We are striving to restore the dignity the cow deserves. Political figures who profess to oppose cow slaughter should come here and declare that cow slaughter will be permanently banned. If they fail to do so, their opposition is merely a façade.”

The Maha Kumbh Mela is currently in progress in Prayagraj, with devotees flocking to the ghats of Triveni Sangam for a holy dip in the sacred confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reported that over 3.5 crore devotees participated in the Amrit Snan on the festival's inaugural day. Helicopters showered rose petals over the pilgrims as the sacred bathing ritual concluded in the evening, marking a historic initiation to this religious gathering.

With political and spiritual leaders uniting in the sacred city of Prayagraj, the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela remains a symbol of devotion, cultural importance, and a call for the protection and respect of the sacred cow.
