On the same day, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and president of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, also took part in the sacred dip.

Alongside him were leaders and members of the Samajwadi Party.

Akhilesh Yadav immersed himself in the waters of Sangam and offered 'Arghya' to the Sun.

Later, during an interaction with reporters, the former Chief Minister stated: "I have taken a total of 11 dips. Let us resolve today that a positive message should emerge from the Mahakumbh. Whenever we think of Kumbh, the essence of harmony, goodwill, and tolerance prevails. I previously bathed in Haridwar, and today I had the opportunity to bathe in Sangam."

Meanwhile, a vast number of devotees have begun to gather in Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh, ahead of Mauni Amavasya, the most significant bathing day of the two-month-long festival.

With the weekend rush leading up to this auspicious day, the city is experiencing an influx of pilgrims from all directions. Railway stations, bus terminals, and highways are filled with devotees, all eager to reach Sangam for their sacred dip.

In the past two days (Friday and Saturday), over 1.25 crore devotees have immersed themselves at Sangam. The crowd is projected to increase significantly, with estimates suggesting 8-10 crore devotees expected to bathe on Mauni Amavasya.

The fair administration and Kumbh police have made extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for the pilgrims.

To preserve order and facilitate movement, the entire fair area has been designated as a no-vehicle zone. Progress is underway to set up barricades along the banks to manage the crowd effectively.

Special provisions have been established in all sectors and zones to assist the movement of devotees. No exclusive protocols will be enforced during the Amrit Snan festival to prioritize public convenience.

The Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC) has been activated to monitor crowd density and ensure that no excessive gatherings occur.

Quick-response teams are stationed in high-density areas to manage emergencies, while crucial routes are under close surveillance. Monitoring is also conducted to identify suspicious individuals and avert any untoward incidents.

Devotees are encouraged to download the official chatbot for the fair, which provides comprehensive information to enhance their journey. Additionally, Google navigation and on-ground police personnel will assist pilgrims in navigating the correct routes.
