Maharashtra Government to Launch E-Cabinet for Enhanced and Transparent Administration

Mumbai, Dec 7 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Tuesday the introduction of the E-Cabinet system, aimed at fostering dynamic and transparent governance within the state.

During the Cabinet meeting, he highlighted that the E-Cabinet's primary goal is to enhance transparency and expedite the administrative processes of the state government by leveraging advanced technology.

The E-Cabinet framework, created by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), was showcased by Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik at the Cabinet meeting on the same day.

As per a statement from the state government, this comprehensive Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solution is poised to significantly decrease the extensive paper usage associated with Cabinet meetings.

This innovative system will offer a highly user-friendly dashboard for Ministers, simplifying the process of accessing necessary references, monitoring action points, and evaluating the execution of decisions made.

The E-Cabinet will efficiently archive Cabinet meetings, decisions, and related documentation, facilitating easy retrieval of cabinet decisions and associated references.

This new system is designed to address the multiple challenges encountered during traditional cabinet meetings held in the past.

All procedures related to online proposal submissions, discussions within the Cabinet, final decision-making, and record-keeping will be streamlined.

This initiative marks a significant advancement towards the realization of good governance, saving considerable time for officials and employees involved in this process, according to the statement.

Additionally, the Chief Minister has instructed all ministers to remain in Mumbai for at least three days each week and to conduct their meetings and departmental work at Mantralaya, as well as to meet with visitors.

He urged the ministers to strategize their constituency responsibilities during the remaining days. Furthermore, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of regular attendance at weekly Cabinet meetings and periodic evaluations of their respective departments.
