Hyderabad, Nov 26 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday that modern India is not just dreaming big but is also making audacious decisions that lead to even greater outcomes.
He emphasized that India has conveyed a powerful message globally, welcoming investment and innovation. The Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has significantly contributed to attracting international manufacturers to the 'Make in India' initiative.
"We are dreaming big, doing bigger, and delivering the best," PM Modi declared.
He pointed out that over 40,000 compliance requirements have been simplified in the last 11 years, and the National Single Window System has consolidated various approvals into a single platform.
During the virtual launch of the Safran Aircraft Engine Services India facility in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister remarked that today's India not only dreams big but also implements bold strategies to achieve substantial results. He reiterated that improving the Ease of Doing Business remains a top priority.
PM Modi noted that the inauguration of Safran's facility represents a pivotal moment for India's aviation industry.
According to him, this facility will establish India as a global MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) hub, creating new opportunities for youth in the advanced technology and aerospace fields.
He highlighted that numerous significant reforms have been introduced in recent years to draw global investors and industries.
"India has liberalized its economy, fortified its fundamentals, and simplified business processes," the Prime Minister affirmed.
In sectors like defense, where private participation was previously limited, up to 74 percent FDI is now permitted through the automatic route. A forward-looking approach has also been adopted in the space sector, PM Modi noted.
With the rapid expansion of India's aviation sector, the demand for MRO facilities has surged. Indian airlines have ordered over 1,500 aircraft.
"However, approximately 85 percent of India's MRO work was historically conducted overseas, leading to higher costs, delays, and prolonged grounding of aircraft," PM Modi explained.
He added that Safran's global training expertise and collaborative efforts with Indian institutions will contribute to developing a skilled workforce poised to advance India's MRO ecosystem.
