CM Fadnavis highlighted that these MoUs involve partnerships with various companies aimed at enhancing the marine ecosystem. This initiative is expected to position Maharashtra at the forefront of maritime trade and development. Additionally, we are introducing a fleet of electric vessels to ensure that water transport becomes cleaner and more environmentally friendly,” the Chief Minister elaborated. He mentioned the development of water sports centers, the shipbuilding industry, and blue economy initiatives within the state.
“With the construction of Vadhavan Port, Maharashtra is on track to lead the country’s maritime sector. This port will connect key cities in the state via road, ensuring that the advantages of Vadhavan Port extend to the entire region,” he emphasized.
Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane expressed that this is a moment of pride for Maharashtra. “Thanks to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's vision, significant development opportunities are emerging in the maritime sector. Maharashtra is evolving into a leader in shipbuilding policy, passenger shipping, and maritime tourism. Soon, the state will become the hub of the nation’s maritime progress. These MoUs will empower Maharashtra's maritime sector on a global scale,” he added.
Minister Rane also mentioned that a new chapter of investments has commenced in the domains of port development, shipbuilding, ship repair, and maritime transport.
