Los Angeles, Oct 28 (NationPress) Hollywood star Glen Powell has expressed that the spotlight of fame can be quite draining. The 'Twisters' actor, aged 36, has gained significant recognition recently with standout performances in films like 'Top Gun: Maverick' and 'Hit Man'.
Despite his rising fame, Powell finds the scrutiny overwhelming and prefers the camaraderie of a film set, where he feels more at ease, as 'real life' can be tough, according to reports from Female First UK.
He shared with The Guardian, "What I've realized lately is I genuinely love acting. I enjoy the process of uniting a group of talented individuals to create something extraordinary. That part never exhausts me; it’s a joy."
However, he added, "The tiring aspect, the one that really throws me off, is facing the outside world right now. When I’m on set, I’m focused and collaborating, it feels very normal. But this other side (fame) is something I’m still adjusting to."
As reported by Female First UK, Glen has relocated from Los Angeles back to his home state of Texas, believing that being near his family has provided some relief.
He remarked, "I always wanted to return to Texas. That’s where my loved ones are, that’s where my friends reside. I have acquaintances here in Los Angeles, but I can always bring them back to Texas."
During the conversation, Glen also acknowledged his anxiety about making a misstep and becoming embroiled in controversy.
He noted, "Oh, it’s inevitable. It’s not a question of if, but when. It’s been an adjustment. I strive to be genuine, work diligently, and treat people kindly; that’s how I navigate life. But inevitably, you’re bound to catch some backlash. But that’s the nature of the business, and I’ve seen it happen to others."
This follows Glen’s recent admission that he once declined to take a photo with a celebrity who was on the verge of being "canceled".
In an appearance on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast, Glen recounted, "I attended a party where someone was facing cancellation. It was one of those Hollywood gatherings with cameras and media everywhere."
"This individual had starred in some of my favorite films and I was thrilled to meet him. When he approached me and said, 'Nice to meet you,' I replied, 'Oh, man. Such a big fan.'"
While Glen was open to a conversation with the unnamed star, he decided against posing for a photo with him.
