Mumbai, June 25 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Wednesday that Maharashtra aims to be the pioneering chapter in India’s growth narrative and play a significant role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative.
During his address at the Maharashtra Industry Dialogue 2025, hosted by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, the Chief Minister expressed to investors that it is an exhilarating time to be in Maharashtra as the government is adopting innovative and effective policies.
“The Cabinet committee on investment is proactive. We recognize the requirements of the industry; we are flexible and ready to adapt to global trends to emerge as the most preferred investment hub. Our single-window system, MAITRI, offers a comprehensive integration that ensures a seamless and hassle-free experience for investors,” he emphasized.
CM Fadnavis mentioned that the government is developing an ecosystem across various regions that were previously unbalanced. However, this narrative is changing, leading different regions to compete in this Industrial Revolution. “Ten years ago, Gadchiroli was considered a zero-industrial zone, but now it is emerging as an industrial hub. Thanks to several policies, Gadchiroli is on its way to becoming India’s new steel city, contributing one-third of the nation’s steel production, which will transform the district’s outlook,” he remarked.
Highlighting the Rs 76,000 crore Vadhavan port, Fadnavis stated that the massive port development will drive port-led growth. “The Vadhavan port will be linked via an access-controlled road to Samruddhi Mahamarg near Nashik, connecting at least 20 districts, facilitating quicker goods transportation and significantly reducing logistics costs, thus integrating Maharashtra into the global supply chain,” he added.
He noted that a new ecosystem for the textile sector is evolving in Amravati, while Chhatrapati Samhajinagar is becoming a new industrial hub and is set to emerge as the electric vehicle capital of India. Furthermore, Nashik is now a focal point for the defense sector.
“New defense corridors are being established in Nashik, Ahilyanagar, Sambhajinaar, and near Nagpur. The government is promoting defense and aerospace industries in Nashik, which is poised to become a prime investment location for this sector,” he stated.
“Pune has historically been our industrial powerhouse, and in Navi Mumbai and Raigad, we are forging a new ecosystem for GCCs, advanced manufacturing, green technologies, and innovation. This positions Maharashtra at the forefront of innovation. With the new airport in Pune and the Pune ring road, we aim to build a comprehensive business and logistics ecosystem that will double the district’s GDP and bolster the state’s growth,” commented the Chief Minister.
In his remarks, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde indicated that the government is implementing new policies to attract more investments, as stagnation is not an option.
Industry Minister Uday Samant emphasized that the government is actively promoting industrial growth across various districts and is already seeing positive outcomes.
Industry Secretary P Anbalagan stated, “Our goal is to cultivate a more competitive and appealing environment for both domestic and international investors, ensuring Maharashtra remains a leader in industrial advancement.”
