New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) In the latest episode of 'Mann Ki Baat' on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reflected on the significant contributions of Maharishi Valmiki to the remarkable epic of Ramayan. He highlighted October 7, a date commemorated as Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti in India, stating, "Maharishi Valmiki is undoubtedly a cornerstone of Indian culture. It was he who profoundly introduced us to the Avatar Kathas of Bhagwan Ram, gifting humanity the magnificent epic of the Ramayan."

PM Modi emphasized that the Ramayan's impact is rooted in the "ideals and values of Bhagwan Ram embedded within it."

"Bhagwan Ram welcomed all with a spirit of service, compassion, and harmony. Therefore, the Ram depicted in Maharishi Valmiki's Ramayan is complete only with Mata Shabari and Nishadraj. This is why, alongside the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a temple dedicated to Nishadraj and Maharishi Valmiki was established," he remarked.

He also encouraged everyone to visit the temples of Maharishi Valmiki and Nishadraj during their visit to Ayodhya to offer their prayers at the Ram Temple.

Furthermore, PM Modi mentioned that the Indian government is working to include Chhath Mahaparva in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. He expressed, "Once Chhath Puja is recognized by UNESCO, its grandeur and spirituality will be experienced by individuals worldwide."

"Recently, through the efforts of the Government of India, Kolkata's Durga Puja was added to this prestigious UNESCO list. By granting our cultural events such global recognition, we enable the world to learn about them, appreciate them, and engage with them," PM Modi concluded.
