New Delhi, June 29 (NationPress) In the 123rd episode of his monthly radio show, 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his warm wishes with devotees starting their religious yatras across India. He commended the selfless individuals who facilitate these spiritual journeys with a remarkable spirit of service.
He expressed, “When one embarks on a pilgrimage, the first feeling that arises is 'Let's go, we have been called!' This emotion is the essence of our pilgrimage. These journeys serve as a way to discipline the body, purify the heart, foster mutual love and brotherhood, and connect with the divine,” the Prime Minister stated.
PM Modi emphasized that beyond individual spiritual growth, these pilgrimages embody a shared commitment to service.
“There is another important aspect to these journeys. They also provide immense opportunities for service. During these pilgrimages, the number of people aiding the travelers often exceeds those who participate in the pilgrimage itself. Community kitchens, water stations, medical camps, and lodging facilities are organized by volunteers with a spirit of service,” he elaborated.
The Prime Minister expressed his happiness over the revival of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra after a significant pause.
“Kailash Mansarovar represents the dwelling of Lord Shiva. In every tradition—Hinduism, Buddhism, or Jainism—Kailash is revered as a center of faith and devotion,” he remarked.
He noted the spiritual vibrancy throughout India by stating, “The holy Amarnath Yatra begins on July 3, and the auspicious month of Sawan is approaching. Recently, we also witnessed the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.”
The Jagannath Rath Yatra, one of the country’s most revered festivals, attracts millions of devotees annually who gather in the temple town to participate.
He praised the grandeur and unity showcased in these events, saying, “Whether in Odisha, Gujarat, or anywhere else, millions of devotees join these pilgrimages. From North to South and East to West, these journeys reflect the spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.'”
“When we undertake these journeys with complete devotion and discipline, we also reap their rewards,” the Prime Minister concluded with a message of goodwill.
“I extend my best wishes to all the fortunate devotees embarking on various Yatras. I commend those dedicated to ensuring these Yatras are successful and safe with a spirit of service,” he added.
