Mumbai, June 29 (NationPress) The New Delhi Film Foundation (NDFF) has recently unveiled a transformative initiative titled 'Talk Cinema On The Floor' during an event held at the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Creativity (SACAC) in New Delhi.
This engaging platform seeks to unite artists, filmmakers, technicians, screenwriters, and producers in a collaborative environment to stimulate discussions, partnerships, and creative endeavors. The inaugural event showcased two significant segments — 'Craft & Crew' and 'Spotlight'. This initiative was organized in conjunction with the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and SACAC.
During the 'Craft & Crew' segment, film educator and filmmaker Dr. Vikas Singh from Delhi University shared valuable insights into filmmaking, drawn from his experience at India’s leading studio, Yash Raj Films. In the 'Spotlight' segment, independent filmmaker Pawan K. Shrivastava discussed his cinematic journey and notable films, including 'Naya Pata' — Bihar’s inaugural crowdfunded film.
Additionally, NDFF introduced its flagship campaign, 'Make Cinema', which aims to create six impactful short films within the next six months. NDFF Founder Ashish K. Singh elaborated on the campaign’s vision to unveil new prospects for gifted writers and filmmakers. A highlight of the event was 'Take The Floor: The 5-Minute Window', where chosen participants showcased their talents and pitched their projects, promoting collaboration.
Renowned actor Pankaj Kataria, famous for his role in the hit streaming series 'Paatal Lok', was among those who participated. The event also provided a platform for several emerging filmmakers to pitch their short film projects.
Vaibhav Maitreya, Executive Director (Branding & Marketing) of NDFF, mentioned that this initiative is designed as a self-sustaining model. A special feature of the event was a vintage poster exhibition curated by collector Ashok Kumar Kashyap, which highlighted original posters of classic Hindi films and paid tribute to Guru Dutt and Raj Kapoor on the occasion of their birth centenary years.
