Mumbai, Jan 10 (NationPress) Renowned South actor Nagarjuna is the proud owner of the prestigious Annapurna Studios. The studio has now introduced India's pioneering Dolby-certified postproduction facility for cinema and home.
The latest facility at Annapurna Studios was inaugurated by the acclaimed director SS Rajamouli, famed for his work on 'Baahubali'. The Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios, Nagarjuna, also attended the event. This state-of-the-art Dolby facility aims to revolutionize the Indian cinematic landscape.
SS Rajamouli expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "During the making of RRR, we had to travel to Germany for Dolby Vision grading. I felt disheartened that I couldn’t experience my film in Dolby Vision in my own country. But today, I am exhilarated to see a Dolby Vision grading facility right here at Annapurna Studios."
The director further mentioned, "Even more thrilling is that by the time my next film debuts, several Dolby Cinema locations will be available across India. Experiencing a film in Dolby Vision is truly unique—the clarity and the way it emphasizes every frame enhances storytelling significantly. I can’t wait for the audience to engage with it!"
The Vice Chairman of Annapurna Studios, Nagarjuna, emphasized the studio's role as a leader in innovation within Indian cinema. He remarked, "From pioneering virtual production to now having the country's first Dolby Certified Postproduction Facility for Cinema & Home, our goal has always been to elevate Indian films on the global stage. As Annapurna Studios celebrates its 50th anniversary, this partnership with Dolby exemplifies that vision. At Annapurna, our legacy has been to welcome change and innovation, and this is another step forward in that journey."
Additionally, the Executive Director of Annapurna Studios, Supriya Yarlagadda, stated, "With the Dolby Certified Postproduction Facility for Cinema & Home, we are launching a transformative technology that will alter how films are crafted and experienced in India. Our aim is to enable filmmakers to narrate their stories with unmatched precision and impact.”
During the event, an exclusive screening of select scenes from SS Rajamouli's "RRR" in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos was also held. The film, featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has made history as the first Indian film released in Dolby Cinema.
