What Makes the Wedding Venue Annapurna Studios, Home to Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita, So Extraordinary

Mumbai, Dec 2 (NationPress) The beloved couple, Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya, are gearing up to embark on a new journey together at the family-owned Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, a property that carries the legacy of the actor's grandfather, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Their wedding is scheduled for December 4, and the venue holds immense significance as it was established in 1976 by the legendary actor-producer, Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Spanning an impressive 22 acres in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, the studio has been the birthplace of over 60 feature films and stands as a cornerstone in the Tollywood film industry, making it one of the largest film production studios in India.

For the 'Raata ceremony', Sobhita adorned herself with traditional jewelry that belonged to her mother and grandmother, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

The Raata ceremony is a vital pre-wedding tradition in various Telugu customs, serving as a significant milestone before the bride officially enters marriage. During this ceremony, a bamboo pole is planted along with leaves from mango, jamun, and Jammi trees, which are then reverently worshipped using sacred items like pancha loha, navaratan (nine gems), and navadhaanya (nine grains).

A sacred potli (bag) was affixed to the pole, and prayers were offered to the pancha bhuta (five elements) and deities from all eight directions. This ritual is believed to purify and bless the bride before she transitions into married life.

A source close to the actress mentioned that wearing her mother and grandmother's jewelry made this occasion even more poignant for her.

Following the Raata ceremony, the Mangalasnaanam ritual will be performed, where turmeric paste is applied to the bride’s body. Reports indicate that the wedding will showcase traditional roots and will extend over 8 hours to accommodate all ceremonial practices.

“The wedding rituals are expected to last over 8 hours, in accordance with the Telugu Brahmin traditions, which Sobhita and Chaitanya are embracing for their big day,” a source close to Sobhita revealed.

For her wedding attire, the actress has opted for a classic Kanjivaram silk saree, exquisitely embellished with real gold zari.
