This initiative, developed by the Mizo Diaspora Cell in collaboration with LushAITech, was launched as part of the government’s commitment to innovation and good governance. The Chief Minister highlighted that the state is implementing various digital platforms to enhance citizen participation and service delivery.
He asserted the importance of maintaining robust ties with Mizo communities abroad, aiming to strengthen those relationships through this new platform.
The newly established Mizo Diaspora Cell under the Chief Minister’s Office will oversee, support, and sustain relations with Mizos living outside both Mizoram and India.
The Chief Minister encouraged all Mizo welfare organizations and groups worldwide to register on the portal and utilize its features.
Lalduhoma, who transitioned from being an IPS officer to a politician, stated that the government stands ready to assist those in need, particularly in challenging circumstances abroad.
The portal also facilitates communication among welfare associations and provides useful tools to aid in coordinated efforts.
He expressed gratitude to LushAITech for developing the platform in collaboration with the Diaspora Cell without incurring significant government costs.
Vanlaldina Fanai, Chairman of the Diaspora Cell, noted that the cell was created on June 11, 2024, with an initial focus on addressing the challenges faced by Mizos abroad.
He pointed out the hardships many encounter when migrating through illegal channels or becoming victims of exploitation.
Fanai advocated for responsible migration and emphasized the need for closer relationships with the homeland.
He also acknowledged the support from key departments including the Ministry of External Affairs, Home Department, SP (CID and Crime Branch), and the Law and Judicial Department.
The Mizo DiasporaHub is currently open for welfare associations to register, with individual registration commencing shortly.
This portal will act as a centralized hub where users can discover welfare associations, locate gathering spots, obtain contact information of office bearers, and access AI-enabled features like automatic translation and SOS alerts.
Officials confirmed that the portal is now accessible through the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and as a web application.
