Aizawl, May 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, announced on Friday that the state will enhance its digital services for the benefit of the public and to promote smart governance.
Speaking at the 17th Digital Transformation Conclave in Aizawl, he emphasized the significance of providing affordable and accessible digital services to all citizens. According to him, digital governance offers not only convenience but also economic benefits for both the public and the government.
“Mizoram’s dedication to this initiative is evident through the launch and execution of numerous digital platforms,” he stated.
During his address, the Chief Minister outlined some pivotal initiatives, including the Mizoram State Public Grievances Redressal & Monitoring System, Kai Apps, RAMP – MSME Facilitation Cell and Portals, the SDG Dashboard for tracking the Sustainable Development Goals of all villages, the MPLAN-Mizoram State Project Monitoring Dashboard, e-RAM for online tax and revenue services, the online Inner Line Permit system, and the Aizawl Civil Hospital's online OPD registration.
He also hinted at several forthcoming initiatives, such as government e-offices and more.
Lalduhoma expressed that the collaboration between Mizoram and the rest of India in the domain of digital services will yield ongoing progress and benefits. He thanked all individuals, businesses, and senior government officials who attended the 17th Digital Transformation Conclave, which was co-hosted by the Department of ICT and various all-India organizations.
In light of the recent hacking incident affecting a Mizoram government website, the Chief Minister assured the public that the site has been promptly and securely restored. He urged all users, particularly those managing government websites, to remain vigilant and highlighted the necessity of cybersecurity awareness.
Mizoram’s ICT Minister Vanlalthlana acknowledged the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence in today's society, noting its growing necessity for businesses and families concerned for their children’s safety. He advocated for robust and inclusive internet services and secure data storage using cloud technology to guarantee access for everyone. The Minister reiterated that digital development is a crucial aspect of the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and vital for India’s advancement, including that of Mizoram.
The conclave served as a platform for discussions and presentations on digital advancements. Experts from both government and private sectors engaged in discussions about how digital services can foster development throughout the state. Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena and Director General of Police Anil Shukla, among other officials, also contributed to the event.
