New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration in Delhi for purportedly squandering taxpayer funds on a "Sheesh Mahal", while pledging to deliver permanent housing for the impoverished residents of the national capital.

During a public gathering in Delhi's Kartar Nagar, PM Modi stated, "The BJP will not remain passive until the conditions of slum dwellers improve. Therefore, the BJP government is constructing permanent homes for thousands of slum residents. Numerous individuals have already received the keys to their houses, and I assure you that every slum dweller will own a permanent home."

In a jab at AAP, he remarked, "Modi lacks a personal residence, yet my vision is to ensure that every underprivileged individual has a lasting home. Those who erected the Sheesh Mahal and misappropriated crores of public funds for luxury can never prioritize the housing needs of the poor. This is why they are now visiting slums to disseminate falsehoods. They have become experts in deception."

PM Modi drew a parallel, stating, "Their capacity for lying is so formidable that you must be extremely wary. You may have heard of Charles Sobhraj -- he was a notorious con artist, yet he was so adept in his deceit that people kept falling for his schemes. Similarly, AAP continues to mislead the public with fabrications."

He accused AAP of deceiving voters regarding the BJP's welfare initiatives. "In 2014, when I ran for the Lok Sabha, Congress spread false information that if Modi assumed power, MNREGA would be abolished. Eleven years later, not only did I not halt it, but I also enhanced it by tackling corruption. Likewise, all beneficial initiatives for the people of Delhi will persist and be reinforced," he guaranteed.

PM Modi also criticized AAP over alleged corruption, referencing the CAG report.

"Since 1860, the CAG has served as an independent body for governmental accountability. Every administration has honored its findings, but this is the first occasion that a Chief Minister (Arvind Kejriwal) has cast aside the CAG as if it were worthless. AAP has concealed the CAG report out of fear of exposure -- whether it be the liquor scandal, Sheesh Mahal scandal, or corruption in education and healthcare," he stated.

"I promise that once the BJP takes control of Delhi, the CAG report will be presented during the initial Assembly session, and the truth will be unveiled."

Criticizing AAP's governance, he said, "The AAP members are so full of pride that they believe they possess Delhi. They claim to be the guardians of Delhi's mothers and sisters. How disgraceful! No leader can shield anyone -- a leader is merely a servant of the populace."

"I am honored that the mothers and sisters of this country stand as a protection for Modi because they recognize that I serve them with utmost dedication," he added.

Accusing AAP of secretly collaborating with Congress, PM Modi stated, "AAP understands it is on the verge of defeat, so they are attempting to ensure that if their candidate fails, Congress' candidate should succeed. They plan to unite later and seize control. This will only exacerbate Delhi's issues. Therefore, I implore every voter to select the lotus symbol."

PM Modi criticized AAP for its negligence in governance, asserting, "In the past five years, the Delhi Assembly convened for merely 75 days -- the shortest duration in history. While the challenges in Delhi escalated, only 14 laws were enacted, five of which pertained to increasing MLAs' salaries. Does this reflect any genuine concern for the residents of Delhi?"

He reminded voters of AAP's position on national security.

"On January 26, we witnessed the strength of our armed forces. However, let us not forget that right here in Delhi, AAP questioned the Army's surgical strike. They even convened an Assembly session demanding proof of our soldiers' valor. On February 5, the residents of Delhi can hold accountable those who betrayed Maa Bharati."

PM Modi also criticized the lack of a unique identity for Delhi compared to other cities, stating, "Gurgaon and Noida are recognized for IT and startups, Bengaluru is India’s IT capital, Mumbai is famous for Bollywood, and Indore, Surat, Navi Mumbai, and Bhopal are ranked among India's cleanest cities. What distinctive identity does Delhi possess?"

Promising change, PM Modi declared, "The world should not merely recognize Delhi as India's capital but also as the model city of Viksit Bharat. The BJP is striving to establish Delhi as the world's leading metro network, a NaMo Rail-connected city, and a hub of expressways."
