New Delhi, March 12 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to his “family members in Haryana” for the BJP's remarkable success in the municipal elections.

“I am extremely thankful to my family members in Haryana for the remarkable victory of BJP in the Haryana civic elections,” he posted on X, noting that the overwhelming win reflects the persistent confidence of the people in the developmental initiatives undertaken by the government led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

“I assure the residents of the state that we will spare no effort in meeting their hopes and dreams. The dedication of the party’s hardworking members has significantly contributed to this grand victory, for which I sincerely commend them.”

With the BJP claiming victory in the civic polls, the party's national president J.P. Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised PM Modi’s leadership.

Offering congratulations to Saini and other state BJP leaders, J.P. Nadda declared this a landmark victory for the BJP, describing it as a “testament to the unwavering trust” the people have in the public welfare initiatives and development-focused strategies that have reached communities under PM Modi's guidance.

Extending his thanks to the residents of the state, along with the Chief Minister, HM Shah remarked that Haryana has “faith only in Modi-ji.” “Following the sweeping victory in the Haryana Assembly elections, I am profoundly grateful to the people of Haryana for their support to the BJP in the Municipal Corporation and Municipal Body elections as well. Under Modi-ji’s leadership, the BJP has emerged as the preferred choice of the people from the ward to the Vidhan Sabha and from the Panchayat to the Parliament,” he expressed on X.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dominated the civic polls, with its mayoral candidates emerging victorious in Ambala, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, Faridabad, Yamunanagar, Panipat, and Sonipat municipal corporations.

The main opposition party, Congress, suffered losses even in Rohtak, traditionally a stronghold of Bhupinder Hooda.

Congress, which contested the state civic elections using its symbol for the first time, failed to secure any seats.

Delighted with the party’s significant victory, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini told the media in Chandigarh, “The people of Haryana have endorsed the triple-engine government... I express my heartfelt thanks to the people of Haryana. Our local body government and this triple-engine government will be instrumental in realizing PM Narendra Modi's vision of 'Viksit Bharat'.”

Believing that the civic body election results won’t substantially affect the Congress, veteran leader Hooda stated, “The Congress may have gained in certain areas, but I did not actively campaign during the elections. I don’t think these results will have a significant impact.”

The BJP's victory, especially in urban centers like Gurugram and Faridabad, solidifies its dominance over the state's political scene, achieving a historical milestone in October 2024 by becoming the first political party to win three consecutive terms in the state Assembly elections.
