The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Monday, 13 October 2025, passed a formal resolution pledging to build a developed state by 2047, aligning its agenda with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a developed India. The pledge came at a special cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav at the Mantralaya in Bhopal, marking 25 years of Modi's public life.
Resolution and Key Commitments
The Council of Ministers adopted a resolution describing Modi's governance record as an inspiration, and outlining the state government's priorities under what it termed a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) double-engine government. Chief Minister Yadav briefed the media after the meeting. 'By making Prime Minister Modi's mantra our mission and leveraging our capabilities and dedication, we will build a developed Madhya Pradesh for a developed India,' Yadav said.
The resolution credited Modi's 25-year arc in public life — from serving as Gujarat Chief Minister to leading the country — as a period of sustained public welfare and national development. 'Through tireless and ceaseless effort over his 25 years of public service, the Prime Minister has not only made resolutions but has also successfully realised them,' Yadav added.
Infrastructure and Investment Highlights
The cabinet pointed to several large-scale infrastructure undertakings currently under way. These include the Ken-Betwa, Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal, and Tapi basin irrigation projects, as well as metro rail schemes in Bhopal and Indore valued at around ₹23,000 crore. The establishment of the PM MITRA textile park in Dhar and improved air connectivity were also cited.
Investment proposals worth more than ₹30.77 lakh crore were received during the Global Investors Summit 2025, according to the state government. Of that, projects worth around ₹10 lakh crore are reportedly under implementation. The state has introduced 25 industrial policies to facilitate investments, and a telecom manufacturing zone is planned in Gwalior.
Employment, Education and Women's Welfare
On the jobs front, the government said it aims to create more than two lakh government jobs. Plans for the coming year include 12 new medical colleges, 12 skill universities, industry-oriented training for one lakh youths, and artificial intelligence and advanced computing laboratories in colleges. The cabinet also highlighted women's self-help groups, renewable energy expansion and public transport initiatives as state development priorities.
Wildlife, UCC and Simhastha 2028
The resolution noted that Madhya Pradesh's cheetah population had reached 60, with habitats established at Kuno, Gandhi Sagar, and Veerangana Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserves. Separately, the cabinet noted that the Madhya Pradesh Assembly had passed the Uniform Civil Code Bill, 2026, by a voice vote. Preparations for the 2028 Simhastha in Ujjain are also under way, with the government targeting completion of related development works by Diwali 2027.
This comes amid broader competition among BJP-governed states to position themselves as frontrunners in the Centre's Viksit Bharat 2047 framework. Whether the ambitious investment and employment targets translate into measurable outcomes will be the real test for the Yadav administration in the years ahead.
