Bhopal, Oct 18 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav conducted the Dhanvantari Puja ceremony at Mansarovar Medical College in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras.
During his address at the event, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized that a robust community can be nurtured not only through medical science but also by ensuring environmental cleanliness.
"If our water, air, and land remain contaminated, the results of any medical intervention will not be sustainable," Yadav remarked.
He encouraged students and health professionals to commit to hygiene, plantation, and water conservation alongside their medical careers.
The Chief Minister pointed out that since life originated in water, the preservation of water is crucial for health.
Yadav stated that Lord Dhanvantari, revered as the first Ayurvedacharya, guided humanity towards a path of health and longevity.
"Lord Dhanvantari emerged from the ‘Samudra Manthan’ and delivered a message of wellness, longevity, and vitality through the nectar of immortality," he elaborated.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted that Dhanteras is not just a festival to honor wealth but also serves as a reminder to uphold the purity of body, mind, and spirit.
Yadav remarked that allopathic medicine, Ayurveda, and modern medical practices should complement rather than compete with each other.
"Ayurveda teaches that maintaining a balanced diet, a disciplined daily routine, and living in sync with nature can help avert diseases," he added, noting that the lessons of Lord Dhanvantari are as pertinent today as they were thousands of years ago.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that research into both Ayurveda and modern medicine is being promoted to harness the strengths of both disciplines for societal benefit.
He concluded by stating that the Dhanteras festival serves as a reminder that true wealth lies in the harmony of body, mind, and nature.
