Bhopal, June 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, emphasized on Wednesday the urgent need to enhance the adoption of solar energy within the irrigation frameworks established under the Narmada Valley initiatives.
He highlighted that utilizing solar power for water lifting in these projects would significantly decrease electricity costs. The Chief Minister instructed officials to make concerted efforts to motivate farmers to integrate solar energy into their irrigation practices.
These comments were made during a meeting he chaired with senior officials to assess the ongoing development initiatives under the Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA).
Yadav pointed out that the endeavors undertaken by NVDA have considerably enhanced the state’s irrigation capacity and power generation, thus elevating the quality of life for residents.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister's residence, was attended by key officials, including Additional Chief Secretary Rajesh Rajora and Manish Rastogi.
During the discussions, Yadav reiterated the importance of maximizing the utilization of the Narmada River’s water resources for the benefit of the state.
He reviewed various underdeveloped projects such as the Shaheed Elap Singh Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Sendhwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project, and Niwali Lift Irrigation Project.
The meeting also covered administrative approvals for projects like the Vijayraghavgarh Lift Micro Irrigation Project, Gunaur Micro Irrigation Project, Jhirnya Extension Micro Lift Irrigation Project, Baradev Charangwa Micro Lift Irrigation Project, and Khedi Buzurg Lift Micro Irrigation Project in Dhar district.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed officials to devise a plan for constructing ghats (riverfront platforms) at culturally, religiously, and tourist-relevant sites along the Narmada River.
