Bhopal, Aug 13 (NationPress) In alignment with the directives from the Ministry of Education, the Madhya Pradesh government has successfully generated APAAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) IDs for approximately 99.41 lakh school children across the state.
The School Education Department of the state announced in a press release on Wednesday that the Ministry of Education has mandated the creation of APAAR IDs for students enrolled in both private and public schools in Madhya Pradesh.
The initiative aims to establish identity through the concept of ‘One Nation–One Student’. Under this initiative, every student will receive a lifetime ID. This ID will facilitate the tracking of a student's academic journey from pre-primary education through to higher education,” the statement elaborated.
To oversee the preparation of APAAR IDs, the department has designated district education officers as nodal officers.
Additionally, each school has appointed one teacher as the in-charge nodal officer. Meetings have been organized throughout the state to secure parental consent for the creation of APAAR IDs.
“Currently, around 50 lakh APAAR IDs for students are still pending. District education officers have been given a specific timeframe to complete this task. As of now, approximately 65% of APAAR IDs have been generated in Madhya Pradesh,” the department stated.
The APAAR ID will function as an academic credit bank, serving as a digital repository containing details about students’ academic careers.
With the APAAR ID, all documentation related to the student will seamlessly transfer to their new school. “If a student relocates from one state to another, all pertinent information will also be transferred, eliminating the need for a transfer certificate. The APAAR ID will enhance the academic trajectory of students,” it added.
This ID will enable monitoring of dropout students, facilitating their reintegration into the educational system. The ID will serve as a gateway into the Digilocker ecosystem, allowing students to access their achievements, including examination results, overall report cards, health records, learning outcomes, and skill training.
The use of APAAR ID has also been recognized for entrance examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), admission scholarships, transfer of government benefits, and the issuance of awards, the department concluded.
