Bhopal, April 9 (NationPress) The Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Mangubhai Patel, convened a meeting at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday to assess the election process for the state’s District Red Cross Committees.
During this meeting, attended by senior officials from various departments, Patel directed them to initiate the election procedures for district units whose terms have recently ended or are close to conclusion.
He emphasized the necessity for regular elections at all levels of the Red Cross and stressed that electoral activities should proceed without delay.
Patel also recommended that officials consistently evaluate the use of funds allocated to Red Cross units by Raj Bhavan.
“It is crucial to ensure that there are no obstacles in providing adequate medications for patients suffering from sickle cell anemia. Officials must frequently review the allocation of grants to Red Cross units,” Patel stated.
Stressing the significance of the Red Cross, he remarked that it is a robust initiative committed to humanitarian service and encouraged its members to honor the organization’s mission by aiding those in need.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of launching awareness, testing, and treatment initiatives, particularly in rural and isolated areas.
Governor Patel called for sensitive treatment of identified patients and urged members to make personal efforts in supporting children and families impacted by sickle cell disease.
Present at the meeting were Principal Secretary of Public Health and Medical Education Sandeep Yadav, Commissioner Tarun Rathi, Additional Secretary to the Governor Umashankar Bhargav, Collector Bhopal Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, General Secretary of the State Red Cross Committee, and other officials from Raj Bhavan.
