Bhopal, April 1 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has made the decision to rename the ‘CM RISE’ schools, which were initially established under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan's BJP administration, to ‘Sandipani Vidyalaya’.

This change is intended to bring a cultural dimension into the education sector while converting government schools into hubs of comprehensive and progressive learning.

The schools will now embody the heritage of Sandipani Rishi and his disciple Lord Krishna, integrating thematic aspects into their architecture and educational methodologies, as stated by Kailash Vijayvargiya, the government spokesperson and Urban Development Minister of the state, on Tuesday.

The ‘CM RISE’ initiative was initially launched to enhance educational standards in government institutions, emphasizing a student-centric approach to establish world-class schools accessible to everyone.

These institutions feature cutting-edge facilities, such as smart classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, and extensive libraries. Additionally, transportation services are provided to ensure student accessibility. The program prioritizes holistic education, merging academics, skill enhancement, and character development to cultivate well-rounded individuals.

Emphasis on citizenship education is a crucial component, aimed at instilling civic values and practical knowledge among students. This initiative was developed in partnership with Peepul, a non-governmental organization, and operates at four levels: district, development block, cluster, and village.

One notable ‘CM RISE’ school, Vinoba in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, achieved international acclaim as a finalist in the ‘Innovation’ category of the World’s Best School Prizes 2024.

Addressing the renaming, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav noted that the name ‘CM RISE’ felt reminiscent of colonial times, prompting the transition to ‘Sandipani Vidyalaya’ as a tribute to Indian heritage.

The newly renamed schools will continue to focus on advanced educational offerings while integrating cultural themes. This initiative marks a significant advancement towards modernizing education while honoring traditional values, ensuring a balanced and enriched learning environment for students statewide.

As of June 2024, Madhya Pradesh hosts 369 fully equipped ‘CM Rise’ schools functioning with world-class amenities.
