Kohima, April 1 (NationPress) The International University located in Nagaland’s Dimapur has officially named its newly established library in honor of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the visionary founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
On Monday, Nagaland Governor La Ganesan presided over the inauguration of the Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Central Library at the International University, which was previously known as the Global Open University, Nagaland.
The library, boasting a collection of 75,000 books, was inaugurated on the eve of the 136th birth anniversary of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, who was born on April 1, 1889, in Nagpur.
During the event, the Governor stressed the vital role libraries play in nurturing intellectual curiosity and encouraging lifelong learning.
He praised the creation of the Central Library as a meaningful homage to Dr. Hedgewar’s enduring legacy, referring to him as a significant figure in India’s cultural and nationalist revival.
“A well-resourced library acts as a hub for learning and contemplation, motivating students and scholars to explore history, philosophy, science, and the humanities while remaining connected to the values of our esteemed civilization,” the Governor remarked.
