Amaravati, Jan 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed his excitement regarding the feedback received for the state’s tableau featured during the 76th Republic Day parade in Delhi, which highlighted the exquisite Etikoppaka wooden toys.

He remarked that the tableau, which showcased the globally recognized Etikoppaka toys during the 76th Republic Day festivities, left a remarkable impression on all attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Our Etikoppaka toys, crafted from sustainable and natural materials, embody the artistic brilliance of Andhra Pradesh’s artisans,” the Chief Minister shared on ‘X’.

Accompanied by the song 'Bommalamma... Bommalu', the tableau representing Etikoppaka toys became a highlight on Kartavya Path. He congratulated everyone involved in creating this stunning tableau.

The tableau celebrated a 400-year-old artisanal legacy, renowned for its eco-friendly, smooth, vibrant, and toxin-free toys.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also utilized social media to convey his joy over the Andhra Pradesh tableau that showcased Etikoppaka wooden toys.

He stated that it is a significant honor for Andhra Pradesh that the tableau put a spotlight on the internationally acclaimed Etikoppaka lacquer toys during the Republic Day festivities.

The Jana Sena leader recalled that since the NDA government assumed power in the state under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Etikoppaka toys have been included in the gifts presented to state guests, aiming to promote these toys and showcase the talents of the artisans worldwide.

Pawan Kalyan also reminisced that previously, two Etikoppaka artists were honored with the President's Award for their outstanding craftsmanship.

He emphasized that by featuring the Etikoppaka tableau in the parade, the government demonstrated its commitment to fostering this craft.

The Minister for Information Technology and Education expressed pride in witnessing the vibrant Etikoppaka toys and tableau from Andhra Pradesh at the Republic Day parade on Kartavya.

“These handcrafted wooden toys, made from environmentally friendly materials and traditional techniques, reflect centuries of artistry. After three rounds of intense competition, our rich cultural heritage shines brilliantly,” he remarked.

BJP MP C. M. Ramesh shared his excitement upon seeing the themed Andhra Pradesh tableau from his constituency, Anakapalli, stand out at the Kartavya Path R-Day Parade.

“These eco-friendly handcrafted wooden toys represent centuries of tradition. I’m proud to see Andhra Pradesh’s heritage celebrated,” he noted.

The toys originated from Etikoppaka in Anakapalli, located near Visakhapatnam. They are crafted from soft Anduku wood and colored with natural dyes sourced from seeds, lacquer, bark roots, and leaves. The artisans also use a colorless resinous secretion from various insects for decoration. Etikoppaka toys have been awarded their GI tag under the handicrafts category.
