Ahmedabad, June 12 (NationPress) Senior cabin crew member Aparna Mahadik, aged 42, was tragically among those on Air India Flight AI-171, which crashed shortly after its departure from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday.
The ill-fated Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was headed to London with 242 individuals on board.
Mahadik was related to Maharashtra's NCP MP Sunil Tatkare, being the daughter-in-law of his younger sister.
In a statement, the Raigad MP remarked, "Aparna Mahadik is the daughter-in-law of my younger sister. Her family is based in Goregaon, Mumbai."
Tatkare also disclosed that Mahadik's husband, who is his nephew, is also a cabin crew member with Air India and was in Delhi during the incident.
“The Mahadik family has been informed of the tragedy,” he added.
