NCP (SP) Asks Maharashtra CM When MCOCA Will Be Applied Against Beed Sarpanch Murderers

Mumbai, Dec 30 (NationPress) In its ongoing criticism of the ruling MahaYuti, the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) has raised the question of when the MCOCA will be applied against the murderers of a Sarpanch from Beed on Monday.

NCP (SP) General Secretary and Assembly leader Dr. Jitendra Awhad stated that the Beed Police have registered a murder case involving Santosh Pandit Deshmukh, the Sarpanch of Massajog village, but notably, the name of the primary accused, Walmik Karad, is conspicuously absent from the complaint.

“Karad is considered the mastermind and is wanted under IPC Sec 302, yet it is curious that his name is missing from the police report. This entire situation appears to be orchestrated, and there seems to be a deliberate effort to remove it from public memory,” Dr. Awhad expressed.

He referenced comments made by BJP MLA Suresh R. Dhas, who hinted at the possible involvement of influential figures in the Sarpanch's murder. Awhad stated plainly, “I will not mince words; I am directly implicating Minister Dhananjay P. Munde” (from the ruling ally NCP).

“Given the ongoing allegations directed at a ruling party minister in this Sarpanch murder case, it is the responsibility of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, as the President of that party, to demand Munde’s resignation,” Awhad insisted.

Additionally, he recalled that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had assured the Assembly that the Beed murder case would be reviewed by a judicial panel, and all perpetrators would be held accountable swiftly.

“This should have been executed within 24 hours… However, there has been no progress to date. The ruling BJP had previously vowed to apprehend Dawood Ibrahim quickly, yet they cannot even locate Walmik Karad,” Awhad remarked critically.

Suggesting a possible ‘political arrangement’ regarding the Beed murder case, the NCP (SP) leader claimed an atmosphere is being fostered where the fugitive (Walmik Karad) seems more significant than the MahaYuti government, while Ajit A. Pawar is not assuming any accountability.

“On the contrary, during the Legislative Session in Nagpur, Ajit Pawar even exchanged a wink with Dhas in the assembly... We are unsure of the intent behind that,” he added.

Supporting calls for Munde’s resignation from various factions, Awhad noted that when Sharad Pawar was CM and faced allegations from Kisanrao Babu alias Anna Hazare, he promptly requested five ministers to resign from the cabinet.
