Ajit Pawar Asserts No Resignation for Dhananjay Munde Amidst Sarpanch Murder Controversy

Pune, Jan 9 (NationPress) The national president of NCP and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar, firmly stated on Thursday that he will not accept the resignation of party minister Dhananjay Munde, which has been demanded by the opposition due to the horrific murder of Massajog sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh in Beed district.

However, he emphasized: "Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty, irrespective of their party affiliation."

Responding to inquiries regarding the opposition's demand for Dhananjay Munde's resignation, particularly highlighting the connections with his close associate Walmik Karad related to the murder of Santosh Deshmukh, Ajit Pawar mentioned: "Multiple investigation agencies, including the CID, special investigation team, and a judicial commission, are thoroughly probing this murder case. The Chief Minister has also stated that if any individual is proven guilty, immediate actions will be enforced."

He further stated: "In my recent discussions with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, I asserted that if any senior party officials are found culpable, they should be held accountable, irrespective of their political connections. This is a heinous crime, and we will not stand for such acts. The guilty will face severe repercussions."

Addressing the allegations made by BJP legislator Suresh Dhas concerning the murder case and Dhananjay Munde, the NCP president and DCM requested that the BJP legislator present evidence to the special investigation team rather than just making accusations.

"I have conversed with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who also serves as the state revenue minister, about the claims made by Dhas. Three different investigation bodies are meticulously examining the Sarpanch murder case. If any inconsistencies arise during the report submission, the integrity of the investigation could be questioned. Thus, the investigation is being conducted with utmost care. We shall not allow politics to interfere in this case nor provide support to anyone," he added.

Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar refuted media reports suggesting that state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare had contacted seven out of the eight MPs from the Sharad Pawar faction, labeling it as entirely false.

"Already, three to four MPs (from NCP-SP) including Nilesh Lanke and Amar Kale have publicly stated that neither MP Sunil Tatkare nor anyone else has reached out to them. Why make such accusations without any proof? Those MPs represent 20 to 22 lakh people,” he concluded.
