Mumbai, March 31 (NationPress) The President of Maharashtra's NCP and Member of Parliament, Sunil Tatkare, stated on Tuesday that it is the shared duty of all party members to advance the vision laid out by "Dada" Ajit Pawar with unwavering commitment.
While addressing journalists, Tatkare emphasized the extensive efforts made by the late Ajit Pawar in demonstrating a strong will to align with the NDA. He pointed out that despite challenges in the Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Pawar’s guidance during the Assembly elections, which involved gaining the trust of all colleagues, led to an impressive 72% success rate for the NCP.
"We are deeply affected by Dada’s demise; our hearts are laden with sorrow. I have shared a bond of over 35 years with him and have witnessed numerous significant events. It is now our responsibility to advance the NCP as envisioned by Ajit Dada under the leadership of Sunetra Vahini (Sunetra Pawar). We are committed to this cause," Tatkare remarked.
"Sunetra Pawar stands as our party president. All leaders will convene to make decisions collectively; there is no need for outside interference," he added.
In the meantime, the state party's general secretary, Suraj Chavan, made serious allegations against NCP(SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, claiming that his team has allocated a Rs 5 crore package to a professional agency aimed at defaming the NCP under Sunetra Pawar's leadership and instigating division within the party.
Chavan stated to the media that there has been a calculated effort to undermine the NCP and its leaders over recent days.
He remarked that Rohit Pawar appears to be more concerned with their party than his own. "We have been informed that Rohit Pawar has engaged an agency with a Rs 5 crore package to fabricate accusations against NCP leaders. Moreover, some office-bearers are reportedly being compensated to speak out against the NCP. As part of this strategy, falsehoods regarding the party's constitution have been circulated," Chavan asserted.
He clarified that rumors suggesting the NCP had disbanded its OBC, Social Justice, and Minority cells from its front organizations are completely untrue. “These cells have always functioned independently and were never part of the front wing. From the party's foundation, five main frontal wings have existed: Women, Youth, Students, Seva Dal, and the Main Father Body. Other cells like SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and Kisan are included as per various provisions," he explained.
Chavan criticized Rohit Pawar’s team, advising him to concentrate on his own party’s MLAs, MPs, and overall organizational health rather than interfering in others' matters. He warned that any future attacks on the NCP would receive a strong response.
Chavan further alleged that even before Ajit Dada’s final rites were completed, there were political maneuvers at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati aimed at separating Dada’s family from the party. To counter the strategies of the opposing faction and maintain NCP's connection with Ajit Dada’s family, party leaders had to implement several constitutional amendments. Chavan explained that the party constitution allows for the delegation of authority to secondary leaders in times of crisis.
"In the wake of Ajit Dada’s passing, these provisions were put into effect to secure leadership within his family. Subsequent communications were also managed with this goal in mind. Senior leaders, along with Sunetra Vahini, will provide further clarification on this, but if any member of our party makes a mistake, Vahini possesses the full authority to impose penalties. This remains an internal matter. Others should refrain from interfering in our party and instead focus on their own," he cautioned, directly addressing Rohit Pawar.
