New Delhi, Nov 26 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended a resident of Faridabad for providing shelter to terrorist Dr Umar Muhammad, also recognized as Un Nabi, just prior to the tragic Delhi terror bomb blast.

The individual, identified as Soyab, hails from Dhauj in Faridabad, Haryana, making him the seventh individual detained in relation to this incident. The NIA reports that he not only sheltered Umar before the attack but also supplied essential logistical support needed for the implementation of the car bombing on November 10 near the Red Fort, which resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries.

Previously, the NIA had arrested six close associates of Umar in connection with ongoing investigations under case number RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.

The NIA is vigorously pursuing various leads tied to the suicide bombing, conducting coordinated searches across multiple states with the help of local police forces. The agency aims to identify and capture all individuals affiliated with the broader terror network accountable for the attack.

Investigations have unveiled disturbing insights into terrorist Umar’s operational methods and planning. Interrogation results from detained members of the terror cell reveal that Umar operated what investigators label a “mobile workstation” — a substantial suitcase filled with bomb-making equipment, chemical substances, and containers. He transported it everywhere he went.

Umar, a medical professional linked with Al-Falah University in Faridabad, allegedly performed chemical experiments in his campus accommodation before fabricating the final Improvised Explosive Device (IED). One of the apprehended suspects, Dr. Muzamil Shakeel, also from the same university, corroborated that Umar conducted experiments with materials that were subsequently utilized in the explosion.

According to earlier reports from NDTV, referenced during questioning, Umar tested chemical reactions in controlled amounts before assembling the final bomb components. Police later retrieved bomb-making supplies from his suitcase, validating these claims.

Furthermore, investigators disclosed that Umar transported a partially completed IED within the Hyundai i20 car employed for the suicide bombing. He allegedly mixed acetone — typically used as nail polish remover — with powdered sugar and urea to finalize the explosive mixture just before the attack.

Initially, the terror cell intended to transfer the concealed explosives from Haryana to Jammu and Kashmir, where Umar Un Nabi had significant plans. However, this strategy fell through, leading the suicide bomber to source urea for the IED from the Nuh-Mewat area, as reported by NDTV sources.

Umar Un Nabi referred to himself as the 'emir' of the terror group, according to Muzamil Shakeel. He was noted for his intelligence, knowing nine languages and being regarded as the most educated individual within the terror module, as per investigators’ accounts.
