A statement from the police detailed, "The Udhampur Police has seized both movable and immovable assets worth Rs 4 Crore belonging to the accused, Majid Ali, a resident of Dhami Nagrota, Jammu, under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act.
"This operation is part of the ongoing investigation linked to FIR Nos. 89 & 90/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/27(A)/29 of the NDPS Act from Police Station Majalta," it continued.
Two other individuals, Latief Ali and Sanjay Kumar, were apprehended, and through a detailed backward link analysis, the police team from PS Majalta successfully identified Majid Ali as the primary kingpin, which led to the confiscation of his unlawfully obtained assets.
"The seized assets include a residential house and land measuring 04 Kanals & 14 Marlas, located at Village Dhami Nagrota, District Jammu," the statement indicated.
Additionally, eight vehicles associated with the accused were confiscated, including a Tipper truck (JK02CQ 3771), Tipper truck (JK02CD 1916), Innova car (JK02CW 3204), Alto car (JK02CN 6900), Load Carrier (JK02CC 4302), Motorcycle (JK02DL 5407), Motorcycle (JK02CE 8308), and a Scooty (JK02DB 0356).
During the investigation, three bank accounts belonging to Majid Ali, Latief Ali, and Sanjay Kumar were frozen, holding a total of Rs 1.57 Lakh.
The investigation officer formally issued the attachment order on Wednesday, setting the stage for further legal action.
As a result, the total value of properties attached by Udhampur Police under the NDPS Act this year has now reached Rs 16.70 Crore, highlighting their ongoing commitment against drug trafficking.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with security forces, have been actively targeting drug traffickers and those involved in illegal financial operations, as it is believed that profits from these activities contribute to sustaining terrorism in the region.
