Srinagar, Oct 6 (NationPress) The Jammu and Kashmir Police took decisive action on Monday by attaching the property belonging to a drug peddler, in accordance with the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (PIT NDPS) Act, within the Kulgam district, as reported by officials.

A police statement outlined, "In its steadfast campaign against the drug crisis, Kulgam Police has enacted property attachment against another infamous drug dealer under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act."

"The investigation stemming from an FIR under Sections 8/15, 21 of the NDPS Act at Qazigund Police Station revealed that the accused, Cheki Badwani, a resident of Kurigam in Qazigund tehsil, has been implicated in several drug trafficking offenses and lacks a legitimate source of income," the statement continued.

"Currently, the accused is detained at Bhaderwah District Jail. Further investigations indicated that Badwani had illicitly obtained a residential property, identified under Survey No. 797 min, valued at approximately Rs 25 lakh, through drug trafficking proceeds."

"In a prompt response, the Qazigund police station initiated actions under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, resulting in the property’s attachment. This step is yet another determined effort by Kulgam Police to eradicate the drug issue in the district and undermine the financial foundations of illegal narcotics operations," the statement added.
