Jammu, Dec 22 (NationPress) The Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed on Monday that they have attached movable and immovable assets valued at Rs 1.20 crore belonging to an inter-district drug peddler in Udhampur district.
According to a statement released, Udhampur Police executed this significant operation as part of a broader campaign against drug trafficking, attaching properties worth about Rs 1.20 crore based on Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, linked to FIR No. 117/2025 filed under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act at the Rehambal Police Station.
The seized properties are owned by Wahid Maqbool Mir, son of Mohd. Maqbool Mir, a resident from the Shilvet area of Sumbal in Bandipora district.
Among the assets seized is a double-storey residential house constructed on eight marlas of land under Survey No. 344 (Abadi Deh) located in Shilvet, Sumbal, Bandipora district. Additionally, two tipper vehicles with registration numbers JK19-1061 and JK01N-7343 have also been confiscated.
The police stated that through comprehensive financial examination and backward linkage analysis, it was established that the accused had acquired these properties from proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
“Following these conclusions, the competent authority issued the attachment order today, with further legal procedures under the NDPS Act currently in progress,” the statement indicated.
This operation has increased the Udhampur Police’s NDPS property attachment total for this year to Rs 18.85 crore, demonstrating a persistent offensive against drug peddlers, the police noted.
