Jammu, Nov 26 (NationPress) The police in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir have confiscated property valued at Rs 70 lakh belonging to a drug dealer during their ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking and peddling activities.

A statement from the police today indicated, "As part of its efforts to dismantle narcotics networks, the Udhampur Police has attached a residence linked to drug trafficker Tariq Hussain, marking a significant step under the NDPS Act this year."

Through investigations stemming from a case registered at Police Station Rehambal under the NDPS Act, authorities discovered that Tariq Hussain, a notorious drug peddler from Chak, Udhampur, has connections to a residential property constructed on land Khasra No. 1624/1625 in Chak.

Evidence collected led the Investigating Officer to reasonably suspect that the property was acquired through proceeds from illegal drug trade.

In line with legal protocols, the property has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act pending further legal actions, the statement elaborated.

The total value of the attached property now stands at Rs 70 lakh, contributing to the Udhampur Police's heightened efforts against drug-related offenses.
