A statement from the police indicated, "In a crucial initiative to address the drug issue and dismantle the infrastructure supporting narcotics trafficking, the police in Srinagar have secured a residential property estimated at Rs 50 lakh under the NDPS Act."
The seized property consists of a single-storey house, built on land measuring 5 marlas and 68 square feet, identified as khasra No. 339, and is owned by Waseem Ahmad Bafanda, a resident of Lachmanpora, Dandrkha, Batamaloo.
This action is linked to a case filed under the NDPS Act at the Zadibal police station, where Bafanda has been implicated.

Investigations have suggested that the property was obtained through the illicit proceeds of drug trafficking.
Following Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act, the Srinagar Police has officially seized and attached this immovable property through due legal processes.
"The property is not permitted to be sold, transferred, or dealt with without prior authorization from the relevant authority. This measure signifies a decisive step in the Jammu and Kashmir Police's broader strategy to dismantle the financial frameworks of narcotics operations," the statement highlighted.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police remains committed to a zero-tolerance stance against drug-related offenses, with the goal of protecting the community and its vulnerable youth from the threats of substance abuse.
The Srinagar Police encourages all citizens to actively engage in the battle against drugs by reporting any pertinent information. Community cooperation is vital in ensuring a safe, healthy, and drug-free Srinagar.
