In a crucial operation targeting drug trafficking and its financial channels, the Anantnag police have seized the double-storey residential property belonging to Khurshid Ahmad Dar, the son of Abdul Gani Dar, from the village of Satkipora.
This property, constructed on a Kanal of land and valued at roughly ₹1 crore, was seized under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act. It is associated with the profits from drug trafficking.
The individual in question is connected to a significant narcotics case documented under FIR No. 47/2019 at the Police Station Srigufwara, which involved the confiscation of considerable amounts of illegal substances,” stated the police. They emphasized that this decisive measure highlights the Anantnag Police's unwavering dedication to combating the drug crisis and dismantling the financial structures backing the illegal drug trade.
“This action aims to discourage criminal behavior and safeguard society from the detrimental impacts of drug addiction. The police encourage the community to support their initiatives in fostering a drug-free environment and reaffirm their determination to impose strict legal measures against those involved in drug-related offenses,” the statement further noted.
Security forces have been actively conducting anti-terror operations targeting terrorists, their over-ground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers to disrupt the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. These operations were initiated following several heinous attacks perpetrated by terrorists after the peaceful and participatory Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly elections in the region.
According to intelligence reports, the smooth conduct of elections observed by diplomats from various countries has frustrated the terror operatives based across the border in Pakistan. Intelligence agencies indicate that these operatives have instructed terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir to make a final push for terrorism in the union territory.
